Members receive awards at VTTA Group Annual Prize Presentation

Last Sunday (30th), eight Club Members attended the VTTA (Manchester & NW Group) Annual Lunch and Prize Presentation at Middlewich. Eighty nine Group Members and their friends and guests, enjoyed the social occasion and the excellent meal. The Group (and National) President, Jim Ogden, highlighted the racing achievements of Group Members and then introduced this year’s Guest of Honour, Phil Guy of the North Shropshire Wheelers, whose humorous speech included praise for the Prize Winners.

Our Club Chairman, Bob Norton, presided over the Prize Presentation in his role of Group Recorder. In addition to listing the medalists for the seven Championships, he had the difficult task of verifying and sorting the claims for 21 Age Records (15 Group and 6 National) and 43 Standard Awards.  Mr Norton has done this work for the past nine years and is now handing over to Tony Farrell. The President offered a vote of thanks to Mr Norton for his years of service and this was echoed by all present, with a well-deserved round of applause. He also received the Group Meritorios Trophy for his work as Group Recorder and also for organizing time trials on behalf of the group over the last 12 years.

Our Club Members received the following awards (based on Age Standards):
