Congleton Cycling Club.

News Release. 1st Nov. 05

Undaunted by the Rain.

On the 30th October ten cyclists from the Congleton Cycling Club started from the Rugby Club at 9am on a ride to Beeston Ice Cream Farm.

After a week of torrential rain the morning turned out to be dry at first but rather breezy, however before we even reached Sandbach the heavens opened and down came the rain. Putting on our waterproofs we carried on. It was about five miles away from the ice cream farm when the rain  became torrential and we arrived at the cafe rather wet.

The stop at the cafe was lovely and was enjoyed by everyone, we met with other members of our club as well as other cyclists from other clubs who had also stopped for a snack and a warm drink. This gave us time to dry off a little before starting out for home again.

As we started for home we noticed the beautiful view of both Beeston and Peckforton Castle. Warm sunshine kept with us for most of the journey home to Congleton.

It was a most enjoyable day even though the weather had been somewhat inclement. We were all still smiling when we arrived home.

The next club run on the 6th November will take in Tatton Park starting from the Rugby Club at 9am. Our club runs are suitable to meet most people's abilities so please come along and we always stop at a cafe for a break.
