Congleton Cycling Club.
News Release.
A Pleasant Autumn Ride.
A most enjoyable club
run started from the Rugby Club at 9am to Delamere Forest on Sunday 23rd
October. Eight members of the Congleton Cycling Club plus a guest travelled
along some beautiful country lanes in Cheshire. The weather being fine and
dry made the ride more pleasurable. The conversation and laughter kept going
even up the few hills we had to encounter. At Delamere Station Cafe a snack and
warm drink was enjoyed by everyone and it was here that the ride was joined by
four other members of the club who had taken a longer route to Delamere.
The sun came out for the
ride home which again took us through Cheshire's
beautiful countryside on our circular route back to Congleton again.
Our next club run will
be on Sunday the 30th October to Beeston Ice cream Farm leaving the Ruby Club
in Congleton at 9am. Anyone wishing to join us are very welcome as these club
runs are suitable to meet most abilities. If you require any further
information please ring 01782 517352
A Family Fun Ride.
A similar number of mainly very young cyclists met at Brereton Heath Park for a Family Fun ride on Sunday morning. Organised by Congleton Cycling Campaign and Congleton Cycling Club, the ride took in off-road stretches along local Bridle Paths connected by quiet country lanes. Riders as young as seven years old completed the route, with their parents, including one or two sections made very muddy by the recent rains. The two refreshment stops were really needed and the twenty miles covered were plenty far enough for most of the party. Even the youngest enjoyed the ride in the fine October weather. It is hoped that further similar runs can be undertaken during the winter.
Ends.
